|

Time to read 3 min

Whether you're joining us at the start of a new scouting year or jumping in mid-adventure, we're SO thrilled to welcome you to our Girl Scout troop! One of the most wonderful things about being a Girl Scout is the chance to connect with incredible girls, make lifelong friends, and learn from each other. To help everyone feel comfortable and build those important bonds, we've got some super fun get to know you games planned. Get ready to share, laugh, and discover all the awesome things that make each of us unique!

Get To Know You Games

Getting to Know You Fortune Tellers

Remember those paper fortune tellers? Let's put a fun twist on them! We'll use a template filled with questions like "What's your favorite animal?" or "What's one thing you're looking forward to this year?".

Partner up, play the game, and see what fun facts you uncover about your new friends!

Cube Clumps

Get ready to move! Have a cube with different categories written on each side, like "Favorite Color," "Birthday Month," or "Something You're Good At."

When a category is called out, find everyone else in the troop who shares that same thing and form a "clump"! It's a great way to see what we have in common and celebrate our unique qualities.

Ball Icebreaker

Let's have some fun with a ball!

We'll write different "get to know you" questions all over it. We'll toss the ball around, and when you catch it, you answer the question your thumbs land on. Get ready for some surprising and silly answers!

Heads or Tails

This is a super easy and fun way to share some favorites!

We'll have lists of favorite things and "would you rather" questions. In pairs, you'll flip a coin.

Heads means you share a favorite, and tails means you answer a "would you rather" question. Let's see what interesting choices everyone makes!

Memory Matching Game

Time to get creative! You'll each create your own set of memory cards with fun facts or drawings about yourselves.

Then, pair up and play a game of memory. It's a fun way to learn interesting things about each other while testing your memory skills!

Snowball Fight (of Facts!)

Get ready for a friendly "snowball" fight! Write down a fun fact about yourself on a piece of paper, crumple it up, and let the tossing begin!

After a few moments, pick up a "snowball," unfold it, and try to guess who it belongs to. It's a fun and energetic way to learn little-known facts about everyone.

The Shoe Game

Let's get a little silly! Everyone takes off one shoe and puts it in a pile.

After they're mixed up, each person picks a shoe that isn't their own and has to find the owner.

The catch? You have to learn one interesting fact about that person before returning their shoe. Get ready to do some detective work and make new discoveries!

Two Truths and a Lie

This classic game is always a hit! Each person will share three "facts" about themselves – two that are true and one that is a lie.

The rest of the troop will then guess which statement they think is the lie. Get ready to be surprised by what you learn!

My Favorite Things Show and Tell

Bring in one of your favorite small items to share with the troop! It could be a special rock, a beloved book, a handmade craft, or anything that tells a little bit about you.

You'll have a chance to show your item and tell us why it's so important to you.

Getting to Know You Bingo

Use the printable for the girls to get to know each other a bit more.

Use bingo cards with different statements like "Someone with a pet" or "someone who loves to dance."

Your mission will be to go around and find girls in the troop who can say "yes" to each statement and get their signature on your card. The first to get bingo wins!

If You Knew Me, You'd Know...

This is a chance to share something a little deeper. Each person will complete the sentence "If you knew me, you'd know that I..."

This can be anything from a hidden talent to a favorite way to relax. It's a great way to let others see a different side of you.

things I like

We're so excited to embark on this Girl Scout journey together, filled with friendship, fun, and amazing experiences! By getting to know each other better, we create a stronger, more supportive, and more connected troop. Let the adventures begin!
