The task of a leader can sometimes be very difficult and challenging. It takes a lot of effort to maintain the attention and interest of your girls.

Choosing the right activities for your troop can contribute to better cooperation and better communication, but sometimes it can be quite confusing because you are not sure which activities are best for your scout troop.

But don’t worry!

You are in the perfect place if you want to find out what is the best list of activities for your troop. So let’s get started!

Back to Back Game

The first thing you need to do is divide your troop into pairs. Each pair should stand back to back and link their hands. After that, they should sit on the floor, and when the leader gives the signal, each couple should stand up without using their hands.

To make the game more fun, after one pair gets up, let him find another pair and try the same. The goal is for the whole group to gather in the end and for everyone to stand up together while their hands are intertwined. This activity is good for several reasons:

  • Encourages cooperation – this is very important because girls learn to work together as one.
  • Contributes to physical activity and balance.

Who is the Secret Leader?

This is one really fun indoor activity that your troop will adore. The game begins with the girls sitting in a circle, and you must select one girl who will be the guesser. She should leave the room and wait until she is invited to return.

In the meantime, one girl should be chosen to be the leader. The leader must perform a series of actions such as moving his arms, legs, touching his face or anything else. The other girls have to follow the leader. The guesser is trying to determine who the leader is.

When the guesser correctly identifies the secret leader, she joins the rest of the group, and a new guesser leaves the room, and the game starts from the beginning.

This activity is good because:

  • Develops teamwork that is very important for the whole troupe
  • Affects resourcefulness

Shoot out the Candles

Did you know that this activity can increase the precision and concentration of your troop?

We all know how important that is. If you want a really competitive activity, then this is the ideal game for your troop. All you need is a few candles and a water gun.

Put candles on the table and divide the girls into two teams. Determine the starting line on which the girls must stand. The girls have to aim at the candles and put them out. Give each team one water gun.

The goal of this game is for the girls to extinguish as many candles as possible in the shortest possible time. Girls will have a blast because this activity increases self-confidence and a sense of success.

Note: This game needs to be highly supervised, and recommend an adult is right next to candles. Make sure candles are secure and cannot fall over.

Trust Walk

If you want new challenges and fun for your troop, then this is the ideal game. Blindfold each team and divide the girls into separate groups. Determine one girl to be the leader of each team and to lead the entire team to the finish line.

The leader should lead her team to the finish line, but she must not touch them. She can only give them verbal commands. Make sure the game environment is safe.

This activity is good because it helps your girls practice their listening skills, and leaders learn how to give proper instructions and how to lead their team, which also contribute to building trust. It is very useful to add it to your list of activities.

Team Jigsaw

Communication and teamwork activities can help your girls learn to express their ideas and opinions more effectively. This game also teaches girls how to solve problems and how to try new solutions.

Divide the girls into two groups and give each group a box with a puzzle to solve. Determine the time for which the girls have to complete their task. The group that completes all the pieces of the puzzle first is the winner.

When they start working, they will realize that they are missing some pieces of the puzzle that will be in the other group.

This will make them work with another group and figure out a way to return the pieces of the puzzle they are missing. The girls will learn how to communicate properly to solve their problems.

Human Knot

Let your girls form a circle. Everyone should stand shoulder to shoulder. Tell them to raise their right hand in the air, and then they grab the hand of the girl standing across from them. Let them do the same with their left hand.

When the girls hold hands, tell them that they have to cooperate with each other in order to unravel, forming a human knot without breaking the circle. Remember that everyone should hold the hands of two different people.

The goal of this activity is cooperation, resourcefulness and work.

Flip the Sheet

The last on our list of activities is flip the sheet. Place blankets on the floor, then form two teams, and tell them to stand on the blanket.

Explain to the teams that while standing on the blanket, they must turn it to the other side, but they must not touch the floor outside the blanket with their feet.

The team that turns the blanket first to the other side is the winner. This activity is a lot of fun, and your troop will surely like it.
