Last year I wrote a post sharing 12 fun Easter Party games to play with your girls. However many of them as wrote need to be done in person. So today I am taking some of the ideas I have shared in past and giving them a virtual twist. Some of these ideas will require parents help or participation.
Before the party if you are able to deliver Easter care packs to each girl outside their door that would make prepping easier for the parents. If not see what parents can gather supplies themselves and the ones that can’t deliver. You can use scout cash as a incentive when they win games mark down scout cash. Once in person meetings can start again you could have drawings for prizes. Learn more about scout cash here.
This would not be a meeting rather if you live in an area that you can get a whole community to participate. Put a picture of a egg in the window. Then girls can walk around neighborhood on their own time with parents looking for the eggs. Remembering to social distance.
Prep: Print and give to each parent or send file for them to print. Have parents write numbers on each pair of paw prints. Use pieces of masking tape and bunny footprints.
How to play: Start playing some Easter music and have girls pretend to be Bunnies and hop around the room. When you stop the music, have the bunnies find footprints to stand on (one girl to a paw-print set). Then draw a number if girl is standing on that number award them scout cash.
Prep: Fill a large glass jar with some kind of candy egg, counting them before putting them in.
How to play: Show the girls the container, and if you are using zoom switch too whiteboard. Let them each guess how many in container. The girl closest wins the candy jar of eggs. You can deliver to door for that girl later or hang onto till meetings resume.
Ask the parents to blow up about 10-15 balloons and place them on the floor. Each girl has 2 minutes (use a timer) to pick up and hold as many balloons as possible. They must pick up the balloons all by themselves without help, put them in their clothes, between their legs, under their arms, between their teeth, etc. You can have them each do it one at a time so others can watch, or if large group all do at same time. They will enjoy watching and laugh themselves silly! The girl who holds the most balloons when their time is up is the winner. You can award them scout cash.
This wont be as much fun as in person, unless girls are excited about leader getting messy. Have 12 eggs with 6 that are boiled and 6 that are raw. Number them 1 – 12, then have girls look at them and guess which ones are which no touching just looking! Then after everyone guesses take each one and break it over your hand trying to find the 6 boiled. Girls will have fun just be sure to have wipes to clean your hands.
Now if you can get all your parents involved, you could ask them to do same at home and then they can guess on the ones at their home. Then each girl takes turns cracking them open. This would be great for the courageous and strong petal.
The bingo game and 4 corner game can be printed and each girl can have at their house. Then you can call the numbers and You will enjoy playing three fun games with your girls. With the 4 corner game your girls will be running from corner to corner burning off a lot of energy even if it is in their own house. The card game you can send to your girls and can be a great addition to family night while everyone is at home. Learn more and get your game booklet to play with your girls.
Easter songs can be done as a group virtually, if girls can read of course send them the words. If not then practicing going through the songs and they will pick up the words pretty quick. Few of these songs will get them up and moving!
EASTER’S COMING…DANCE! DO THE BUNNY POKEY!
Sung to: “Hokey Pokey”
You put your bunny ears in
(Place hands on head to make ears)
You put your bunny ears out.
You put your bunny ears in.
And you shake them all about.
You do the Bunny Pokey
And hop yourself around,
That’s what it’s all about!
Additional verses:
You put your bunny nose in…
You put your bunny tail in…
You put your bunny paws in…
Did You Ever See A Bunny
(Sung To: Did You Ever See A Lassie)
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny.
Did you ever see a bunny, wiggle his nose
He wiggles and giggles, and wiggles and giggles
Did you ever see a bunny, wiggle his nose
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny.
Did you ever see a bunny, flap his big ears
He flips them and flaps them, and flips them and flaps them,
Did you ever see a bunny, Flap his big ears.
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny.
Did you ever see a bunny, munch on his lunch!
He munches and crunches, and munches and crunches,
Did you ever see a bunny, munch on his lunch.
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny.
Did you ever see a bunny, fluff his tail
He fluffs and flaps and fluffs and flaps
Did you ever see a bunny, fluff his tail
I thought this could be a great craft you could put together as a take home to do with parents ideas. Then maybe send pictures to you to share with whole troop as they watch their plant grow. If you are able to do the troop care package you can send them as many supplies as you can so parents don’t have to get.
When we did it we decided to color the eggs first, then crack them open and create the egghead craft. Our troop was large so we created the cups of colors for the girls to pick the color they wanted for their egg using a Easter egg dye kit. Once the eggs dried then we broke them open to finish making the craft.
You will need the following supplies:
Instructions:
The grass will start to grow in a couple of days to look like hair. My girls were so excited when the grass started growing. Some even used scissors to give their egghead a haircut.
Here is a quick video covering how to make this craft…
Everyone loves fun patches, so after you virtual party purchase some cute fun patches to add to the girls vest. Again save to give when meetings resume or do drop offs depending on size of your troop.
