Learn how to make a flower using salt. Yes I did say salt! This is a pretty cool craft to do with your girls using a different type of material to make a piece of art. You can learn through directions and pictures and a short video at end of post showing how to do it. Let’s get started!

For this craft you will need

How to make craft

  • First you will need to draw some simple shape. I’ve decided to draw a flower as you can see. You can also print the wanted shapes if you are not good in drawing. When you have the drawing you are ready for the next step.
  • The next step is repeating the lines with the glue and putting some salt over the glue. I’ve used hot glue and the drawing looks like the lines were coming out of the sheet. I’m not sure that you’ll get the same effect with regular glue. Pour big amount of salt over the glue before it dries. You want the salt to get stuck over the glue. Be patient and repeat the same procedure until you finish the lines. When you are finished take the sheet up so the excess of salt will fall off.
  • Next is painting. For the painting you will need watercolors to get the best effect.  Take a brush, put of the color on the brush and make sure it has a lot of water to get more interesting look. Now, just put some dots leaving a space between them. As you can see the water spreads over the salt so you don’t have to go over the lines with salt just put some dots and enjoy in the process.
  • Your finished flower.
