One fun thing to do with your girls is to teach them about another country everything from the people of country, weather, culture, food and more.


You can center your whole meeting around teaching the girls about Egypt. I’ve included some general facts about the country. Then beyond just the facts I have provided a pile of games, activities, fun patch suggestions, and other resources to make your event fun and educational.

Did you know? Egypt’s full name is Arab Republic of Egypt. 


Geography of Egypt: Egypt is located in the northeast corner of Africa. It covers 386,662 square miles. It is almost twice the size of France and 12th largest country in Africa. The Mediterranean Sea is to the north of Egypt. The Sudan is to the south and to the west is Libya. Egypt is east of the Red Sea. The Nile river runs through Egypt. Egypt’s capital is Cairo, which is also the largest city. The average rainfall in Egypt is 1” a year.


People in Egypt: The population is around 88,437,396 people.


Animals in Egypt: The top 10 animals in Egypt are the sand cat, Cape Hyrax, camel, long-eared hedgehog, Dorcas gazelle, Dugong (cousin of the Manatee), desert lynx, sand rat, Egyptian mongoose, and hyena. Cats in Ancient Egypt were held sacred. The Steppe eagle is the National animal.


Economy in Egypt:  The money used in Egypt is called the Egyptian pound.


Language in Egypt:  The official language in Egypt is Arabic, however English and French are also spoken.


Religion in Egypt: The Egyptian religion is 90% Muslim and follow the Islamic religion. Copts is 10% of the religion and is one of the oldest, of the Christian religions.


Education in Egypt: They are required to go to school and wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees.


Food in Egypt: The Egyptian people enjoy many kinds of food. The national food in Egypt is called Kushari. It is made from a mixture of rice, lentils, and macaroni. Tea is also a popular drink in Egypt. A tea called Shay lil na’na is a tea served in almost every household.


Recreation in Egypt:  Egyptian children spend their free time in much the same way as American children. They enjoy music, and watching American TV Soccer is the most popular sport in Egypt. Tennis, squash, wrestling, weightlifting, and ball games of all sorts are also popular.


Inventions in Egypt: The Egyptians invented writing called Hieroglyphics, as well ink and paper called “papyrus”. Medicines, cosmetics, the calendar, plows for farming, musical instruments, wedding ring exchange, toothpaste and sailboats are some of the inventions we use today.


Tourism in Egypt: The peak tourist season is December and January. Popular tourist spots are the Pyramids, Sphinx, Valley of the Kings Tomb and Luxor’s Karnak Temple.

Egypt Fun Group Games and Activities

Egypt Bingo Game

You may enjoy teaching your girls facts about Egypt while playing a game of bingo. In this bingo game there are 24 different Egypt facts your girls will learn about playing the game. When you draw a fact listed on the bingo cards you can also tell your girls a little bit about what each of them mean. After one game play again and have girls tell you what each fact means.

Paper cup pyramid
After teaching your girls more about pyramids in Egypt. Put your girls into groups of 3 or 4 and give them a pile of paper or plastic cups. Set a timer and have them built a pyramid as tall as they can without it falling down. Team with the tallest pyramid at the end of your set time wins.


Write Your Name in Hieroglyphics
Using this worksheet have your girls write their names in Hieroglyphics.


Toilet Paper Mummies
After teaching your girls more about ancient Egypt and what mummies are play this game. Put girls into teams of 3 or 4 and give them each a roll of toilet paper. On go each team must turn one of the girls into a mummy using whole roll of toilet paper. The team completed first and whole roll used for mummy wins.

Photo Booth

If you love to get create pictures of your girls you could set up a photo booth with a variety of Egyptian type props to use in pictures. If you don’t have the time to gather your own. here is a great PDF printable with 30 great Egyptian photo props you can print and cut out and glue to sticks to use at your event.


Quick Flag Fact SWAP Ideas

Print a picture of Egypt Flag and on other side add some facts about the flag. Fold in half and glue paper together and hook to a safety pin and use some ribbon to connect flag to pin. All you need is a printer, scissors, hole puncher, beads, and safety pins to put together.
