One fun thing to do with your girls is to teach them about another country, everything from the people of the country, weather, culture, food, and more.
You can center your whole meeting around teaching the girls about Costa Rica. I chose the country on my bucket list, which is Costa Rica. I’ve included some general facts about the country. I thought I knew a lot about Costa Rica, but to my surprise, I learned several new things. Then beyond just the facts, I have provided a pile of games, activities, fun patch suggestions, and other resources to make your event fun and educational.

Did you know? Costa Rica is also known as "The Rich Coast." It is officially called "The Republic of Costa Rica."
Geography of Costa Rica: It is located in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. The capital of Costa Rica is San José. The country is famous for its tropical rainforests, beaches, volcanoes, and diverse wildlife.
Costa Rica consists of 7 provinces which are:
San José
Alajuela
Cartago
Heredia
Guanacaste
Puntarenas
Limón
Where are the people? The population of Costa Rica is about 5.2 million. San José is the largest city and the cultural and economic center of the country. Costa Rica is known for its high literacy rate and strong education system.
Animals of the Country are Amazing: Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. It is home to sloths, toucans, jaguars, howler monkeys, scarlet macaws, and over 500,000 species of animals. More than 25% of Costa Rica’s land is protected national parks and wildlife reserves.
Government in Costa Rica: Costa Rica is a democratic republic. It abolished its military in 1949, making it one of the few countries in the world without an army. The government consists of three branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.
Economy in Costa Rica: The economy relies heavily on tourism, agriculture, and technology. Coffee and bananas are among the top exports. The country is known for its commitment to sustainability and eco-tourism. The official currency is the Costa Rican Colón.
Language in Costa Rica: The official language is Spanish, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas. Costa Rican Spanish is known for its friendly expressions and the use of "pura vida," which means "pure life."
Religion in Costa Rica: Catholicism is the predominant religion, but freedom of religion is protected. Many Costa Ricans also practice a mix of indigenous and Catholic traditions.
Education in Costa Rica: School is mandatory for children ages 6 to 18. Costa Rica has one of the highest literacy rates in Latin America, at over 97%.
Food in Costa Rica: Traditional foods include gallo pinto (rice and beans), casado (a meal with rice, beans, meat, plantains, and salad), tamales, ceviche, and tres leches cake. Coffee is a staple in Costa Rican culture.
Recreation in Costa Rica: Popular sports include soccer, surfing, zip-lining, and hiking. Costa Rica’s beaches and rainforests provide countless opportunities for outdoor adventures. Kids often play games like "Rayuela" (hopscotch), marbles, and jump rope.
You may enjoy teaching your girls facts about Costa Rica while playing a game of bingo. In this bingo game there are 24 different Costa Rica facts your girls will learn about playing the game. When you draw a fact listed on the bingo cards you can also tell your girls a little bit about what each of them mean. After one game play again and have girls tell you what each fact means.
Costa Rica is known for its Caribbean and Pacific coastlines. Organize a sack race in the style of beach games. This fun activity will get the girls moving while learning about Costa Rica's coastal culture.
Using crackers, have girls try to eat the cracker into the shape of Costa Rica. It is a lot harder than it sounds!
Similar to pin the tail on the donkey, but use a sloth instead. Costa Rica is famous for its sloths, making this a fun and fitting activity!
