Field Day Activity Booklet

This activity booklet was designed to fulfill the requirements for the Cadette Field Day badge or can be used by frontier girl leaders to earn similar badges. Great for teachers and home schooled kids as well.

Leading a field day and managing a large group can be a big task, but these activities will help you take control of the field. Activities where you will practice leading solo and with a group, work together in communication games to feel more comfortable managing others. Learn about how physics and logistics affect the way games are played. Create a customized event of your own and perform a grand finale obstacle course as a group.

Activities Include:

• The Identity Launch – Build your team's "brand" and spirit through Human Rock-Paper-Scissors, a custom Bandana Team Flag, and a rhythmic Field Day Anthem.
  
  
• The Throwback Training – Research and master a game from the past to see how scouts played before technology took over by competing in a coordination-based Hoop and Stick Race.
  
  
• The Physics Challenge – Use science to test equipment limits with the Pool Noodle Javelin, build Velocity Streamers to visualize wind, and conduct a professional Safety Inspector Walkthrough.
  
  
• The Spirit of the Game – Master positive leadership by leading a high-speed Compliment Relay and engineering recycled Duct Tape Trophies that look like a million bucks.
  
  
• The Ultimate Showcase – Pull everything together into one grand event using the Obstacle Course Builder and reflect on your growth with a Field Day Retrospective.
