Bugs Activity Booklet

This activity booklet was designed to fulfill the requirements for the Girl Scout Brownie Bugs badge, or can be used by Frontier Girl leaders to earn similar badges. Great for teachers and home-schooled kids as well.

This booklet has tons of hands-on activities and puzzles that teach girls about the fascinating world of insects—completely unplugged with no computers, Wi-Fi, or expensive kits required. These activities include exploring insect anatomy, identifying local bug habitats, and creating beautiful bug-inspired art.

Activities Include:

• Meet Your Crawly Neighbors: Girls learn insect anatomy by playing a high-energy Exoskeleton Relay, creating a Playdough Bug Anatomy Lab, or participating in a Rock-Flipper's Field Guide outdoor hunt.

• Buggy Masterpieces: Girls learn natural symmetry by playing a Blindfolded Butterfly Draw game, creating a Coffee Filter Symmetrical Wings craft, or participating in a Nature's Bug Mosaic outdoor build.

• The Bug's Life Live: Girls learn insect communication and engineering by playing an Ant Trail Telephone game, creating Pollination Station Bracelets, or participating in a Spider Web Engineering Test.

• Habitat Investigators: Girls learn about insect homes by playing a Floor is Lava Hive Escape game, creating a Build a Bug Hotel craft, or participating in a Habitat Mapping Mission.

• The Great Bug Safari: Girls learn movement and identification by playing a Caterpillar Crawl Race, creating Bug-Eye Vision Goggles, or participating in a "What Is It?" Digital Safari.
