This activity booklet was designed to fulfill the requirements for the Junior Digital Photographer Badge or can be used by Frontier Girl leaders to earn similar badges. Great for teachers and homeschooled kids as well.

This booklet will explore the exciting world of digital photography, camera settings, lighting techniques, visual storytelling, digital editing, and sharing photo art. Through fun games, creative crafts, and interactive worksheets, you will learn to master camera angles, capture lighting and shadows, tell compelling visual stories, edit digital photos like a pro, and build a digital photo gallery. This booklet will help girls see how photography can be used as a powerful tool for artistic expression and real-world communication.

      Activities Include:

        • Master Your Camera Controls & Angles – Girls practice taking photos from extreme high, low, and level angles through a high-energy movement game, create a 5-angle perspective comparison sheet, and explore hidden smartphone camera settings.
        • Capture Photos with Purpose & Lighting – Girls race in an outdoor shadow and sunshine relay, construct DIY aluminum foil light reflectors to bounce portrait fill light, and head outdoors to photograph natural textures and patterns.
        • Tell a Story Through a Digital Photo Essay – Girls complete a fast-paced 3-picture mystery scavenger storyboard, assemble a "Day in My Shoes" candid photo journal, and act as photojournalists documenting community pride and areas needing improvement.
        • Editing & Digital Special Effects Fun – Girls transform photos using filters and blur tools in a guess-the-object mystery game, evaluate color versus black-and-white mood transformations, and practice practical digital touch-ups like cropping and straightening.
        • Share Your Digital Photo Gallery – Girls present their work in a supportive "Glow and Grow" museum-style gallery walk, produce a digital slideshow with music and slide transitions, and curate a final digital portfolio page to take home.

**What You’ll Need: A camera or smartphone camera, a computer, and internet access.
