Inside, you'll find:
Get your booklet and help your girls have a "Great Day"
Provide each girl with a paper plate and a variety of colorful food cutouts, such as those found in magazines or printed images. You could also get some food stickers from link below.
Challenge them to create a plate that includes at least one food from each color of the rainbow, representing different food groups.
My great day starts with a balanced diet. Discuss the nutritional benefits of each color and how a balanced diet contributes to a great day.
Do more with the rainbow: Divide the girls into groups and assign each group a color from the rainbow. Then, have them create a small skit or play about the food group associated with their assigned color. This allows for movement, fun, and education.
Lead a simple yoga session incorporating animal poses and breathing exercises.
Focus on connecting movement with feelings, encouraging the girls to be aware of how their bodies feel.
Conclude with a short guided meditation or relaxation exercise.
Below is an example video you can use to make sure everyone has a great day.
My great day starts with feeling good and understanding why. After Yoga, have the girls draw a picture of their favorite yoga pose, and write down how that pose made them feel. This allows for art and reflection.
Provide each girl with a clear jar and colorful slips of paper.
Encourage them to write down things they are grateful for each day and place them in their jars.
At the end of the week, have them read the slips aloud and reflect on the positive aspects of their lives.
After the jars are decorated and slips are added, what now? Turn this into a group activity by having the girls take turns reading their slips out loud. After each slip, have the group cheer or applaud. This will make it fun and exciting.
Organize a visit to a local community helper, such as a fire station or library.
Have the girls prepare thank-you notes or small gifts to show their appreciation.
Encourage them to ask questions and learn about the vital work these helpers do.
Continue to show gratitude: Have the girls practice different ways to express their thanks. For example, have them act out a 'thank you' or sing a 'thank you'. This helps with creative expression.
By incorporating these fun and engaging activities, you can help your girls earn the My Great Day badge and learn how to have a great day every day.
Enjoy every minute being a leader and continue to inspire your girls!
