      DESCRIPTION

This activity booklet was designed to fulfill the requirements for the Junior Showcasing Robots badge or can be used by Frontier Girl leaders to earn similar badges. Great for teachers and homeschooled kids as well.

This booklet includes hands-on activities that teach girls technical communication, presentation design, and engineering teamwork—completely unplugged, with no expensive kits required. Each step offers total flexibility, letting girls choose one of three engaging options—a lively game, a hands-on project, or a real-world activity—to meet the requirements. Throughout these activities, girls will read and create robot blueprints, deliver live mechanical demonstrations, and explore the exciting world of youth robotics competitions.

      Activities Include:

      • Decode the Robot Blueprint: Girls discover the core working parts of a robot by choosing between a fast-paced Robot Anatomy Freeze Tag game, sketching their own Unplugged Robot Schematic, or taking a curious Reverse-Engineer Tech Tour of routine household appliances.

      • Build a Presentation Station: Girls master visual design and communication by picking either a high-energy Display Board Dash relay race, crafting a standout Tri-Fold Pitch Board, or evaluating what works best in a Science Fair Recon session.

      • Master the Technical Demo: Girls practice speaking up and thinking on their feet by choosing between a hilarious Glitch & Pivot Improv game, designing a set of Technical Demo Cue Cards, or stepping into the audience's shoes during a Peer Tech Critics demo review.

      • Explore Real-World Robotics Teams & Contests: Girls dive into teamwork and competition dynamics by choosing to race in a Robo-Scramble Team Roles challenge, invent their own crew with a Team Identity & Pit Banner, or break down real match strategies in a Robotics League Match Analysis.

      • Host Your Great Robot Showcase: Girls celebrate everything they’ve built by choosing between spinning an interactive Robot Trivia Expo Wheel, building a hands-on Interactive Robot Showcase Booth, or hosting an official Community Tech Expo & Demo Day for family and friends.
